How does facade cleaning differ from window cleaning?

Window cleaning covers glass, frames, sills and shopfronts — billed per window or per m² of glass. Facade cleaning is the entire building elevation: glass and aluminium surfaces, clinker, render, stone, soffits and flashing. We often combine both into one job — the same crew cleans the facade and the glazing on the same date, which cuts the access cost (the lift or rope-access team mobilizes once).

Do you clean facades at height?

Yes. Up to around the 4th floor we work from ground level with water-fed poles and demineralized water — no scaffolding. Higher facades are cleaned from a basket lift or with rope-access techniques. Height work is carried out with certified rope-access partners — under a single contract with Reefa and liability insurance up to 1,000,000 PLN.

What method do you use? Won't pressure damage the render?

We match the method to the surface. Render and insulation systems are soft-washed — low pressure with neutral chemistry, because a high-pressure jet can damage the facade layer. Clinker and brick tolerate controlled pressure washing. Glass and aluminium facades are cleaned with demineralized water, which dries without streaks or deposits. Natural stone needs chemistry matched to the stone type — we assess that during the survey.

How often should a building facade be cleaned?

As a guide: glass and aluminium office facades — 1–2 times a year, render — every 2–4 years, clinker — every 2–3 years. In Krakow and the Silesian Agglomeration cycles tend to be shorter: heating-season smog and industrial dust settle on facades faster than in cities with cleaner air. For regular clients facade cleaning goes into the property's annual schedule.

Do you remove green film and algae from walls?

Yes. Green film, algae and organic soiling — typical for north-facing and shaded walls — are removed by soft washing with chemistry designed for biological soiling. It's a standard element of cleaning rendered and insulated facades.

Is the property manager's or community's consent needed?

We work on the order of the owner, property manager or a tenant with title to the building — that part is on the client. We take on the organizational side: agreeing working hours, protecting the pavement and the zone around the building, and for lift work we help coordinate access and parking spots with the administration.

Do you clean facades after construction or renovation?

Yes. We remove construction dust and run-off stains after building works — most often together with post-construction cleaning and window restoration, as one handover package before the building is delivered. Scope and the per-m² rate are set after a survey.

Why do facades in Krakow get dirty faster and how do we clean them?

Krakow has two specifics you can see on its facades. The first is smog: particulate dust in the heating season settles on elevations faster than in cities with cleaner air — grey streaks on render and a dull film on glass appear here noticeably earlier.
