The Silesian specifics are the variety of housing: familok houses in Nikiszowiec and Bogucice with narrow staircases and attics holding several generations' worth of belongings, prefab blocks on the Tysiąclecia and Paderewskiego estates with basements assigned to each flat, Śródmieście tenements and detached houses in Ligota or Brynów with garages filled to the roof.
